The question
Please — I'm lost in the program with my daughter.
Would you help us a little — how do we present this information to our children? Because the method matters.
Our answer
May Allah preserve you. Lay out a daily schedule, set within it three or four teaching sessions, for example.
The first should be Qur'an for memorization — even a single verse a day, according to your child's capacity. Then progress and follow the memorization guidance and the achievement schedule attached.
Then begin with a book — for example, the Creed Book — one session per day. Read the lesson and repeat it to the little one so she memorizes it in question-and-answer form, then read together, then have her read alone. Repetition is very important at this stage so that the memorization is fixed.
Then choose a story from our stories and tell it to her. At the same time, try to capture her attention with questions and with sounds you make while reading, so you read to her with engagement, drawing her attention and creating passion.
In the skill-building section you have ideas for entertainment and useful play. Choose each day one idea and apply it: coloring an image from the coloring book, a paper activity, a cooking recipe, and so on — to make learning fun.
If you have remaining questions, send them to us. The important thing is to finish all the books of the curriculum according to this program, so you are sure she has obtained the scholarly measure designated for her age. May Allah delight your eyes with your offspring.
